Pat Alvey

Senior Pastor

Pat has been on staff since 1984. He and his wife Linda have two children, eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Prior to coming to Friendly, he served as a Home Mission Pastor in Colorado from 1980-1984. He has his BS (Sociology) & MA (Social Rehabilitation & Social Services) from Sam Houston State University and his MDIV (Master of Divinity) from Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Bro. Pat was called as Senior Pastor in July of 2016. Prior to that, he served as Associate and Executive Pastor at Friendly. He helps to teach Sunday School and works with the Men's Ministry. He enjoys playing the guitar, carving, fishing and spending time with Linda and his grandchildren.

Steve Lyles

Executive Pastor

Steve is Friendly Baptist's Executive Pastor and also oversees our College Ministry. Prior to coming to Friendly, Steve served at First Baptist Church, Destin, FL as Minister of Youth and Education and at First Baptist Church, Valdosta, GA as Student Minister. Prior to being called as Executive Pastor, he served as our Student Pastor for fifteen years. Steve has a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Georgia, a Master's degree from Southwestern Seminary in Religious Education, and a Master of Divinity degree from Liberty University. He has been at Friendly since May of 2001. Steve and his wife Claudia have two children - Matt, age 23, whios is married to Anne and lives in Dallas, and Will, age 20, who is a sophomore at Dallas Baptist University.

Chad Johnson

Student Pastor

Chad was born and raised in Tyler.  He graduated from Chapel Hill High School.  He and his wife Kendra married on September 30, 1995.  They have two children: Madi, age 24, and Logan, age 20.  Chad has been involved in student ministry for almost 20 years. He started working with students at Sharon Baptist Church helping out with Sunday School and Wednesday activities. Feeling God’s calling to Friendly, he quickly became involved in the student ministry in 2006. From 2010-13 Chad was Student Intern, and In 2013 he became Associate Student Minister. From 2017 to the Chad has been Friendly's Student Pastor. Chad is also involved in Character Coaching at Moore Middle School and Coaches Outreach at Chapel Hill. He has a passion to see students lives changed for the Gospel and lived out on a daily basis. Chad enjoys lifting weights, hunting and fishing, but most of all spending time with his wife and children.

Lindsey Miller

Worship Leader

Lindsey Miller began leading worship at Friendly as a volunteer for our Celebrate Recovery group in 2009 but over time became a member of the staff. He now coordinates our main worship service each week with the band and tech team. Lindsey has been married to Cindy for over 30 years, and they have two children, Kaylee & Casey.

Kari Bradshaw

Children's Ministry Coordinator

Kari is a blessed wife and mother of three. God’s calling on her life into Children’s Ministry came after many years of teaching and volunteering with children. She delights in watching children grow in their love for Jesus. In her spare time, you can find Kari curled up with a good book and a hot cup of coffee or making cookies.

Brynn Steele

Nursery Director

Brynn has been a member of Friendly since 2005 and dedicated her life to ministry when she was a teenager. Brynn is married to her husband, Robert, whom she has known for over twenty years.  Brynn and Robert have two children together. Brynn’s first job is to be a wife, then a mother, and then a Nursery Director. Being a young mom herself, she is excited to be in the Nursery Ministry to help young families find a place and to provide a safe and loving environment in which their kids may grow and know Jesus and His love.
