Music Ministry WelcomePURPOSE: While we try to present "quality" music with a high standard of professionalism, professionalism is not our highest goal. Sometimes it is the simple, untrained voice that most ministers to a congregation. We try to find a balance in using those who have expertise in music skills and those who have a heart for serving the Lord through their music. Our highest goal is that the Lord be honored and praised through the music that is presented. Music speaks to the heart and it is an important avenue through which we can serve the Lord.
ADULT CHOIR
Adult Choir is a priority in music ministry because we sing every Sunday morning in our worship service. Rehearsal on Wednesday evening, at 6:30 pm, is a must in order for our choir to stay fresh and continue to turn out new music for the worship services. There are also special musical programs throughout the year that minister to the entire church as well as occasional opportunities to sing in other churches or at other events outside the church. Our rehearsals are always a great time and a great mid-week spiritual refresher. Adult choir is for anyone who is college age and older. The week of day camp provides an avenue of ministry through music that is unlike any others offered throughout the year. It is a week long intense effort to present a musical following a week of fun and exciting activities. The effort of the children gives them opportunities of service to the Lord. Graded Choirs are available for all children pre-school age through sixth grade. They meet on Sunday evenings, at 5:00 pm, throughout the school year. The choirs present various programs throughout the year and are integrated into worship services during the year as well. Teachers and helpers are always needed to maintain the integrity of our Children's Choirs. Children's Choirs have a unique ability to minister to people who aren't typically reached by other traditional methods of ministry. They draw in crowds of people who might come to see a child or grandchild but never come to hear a preaching service. The program is coordinated by a lay person in the church under the direction of the minister of music. VOLUNTEERS
